An Aside to Peter

The speaker: the Nurse
Speaking to: Peter
Context: When the Nurse goes to meet Romeo

Peter, do you think this is possible?
Can two people fall in love so quickly?
I am scared for my lovely Juliet.
She is but thirteen years old, still a child!
Honestly, I doubt they truly do love.
Both are way too young to possibly know
the difference between true love and lust.
And why does she fall for a Montague?
She would be better off with Count Paris.
It is out of my place to speak like this
and it's out of yours, too, servant Peter.
Tell nobody of what I have told you.
I trust you have your own opinions too,
but keep them to yourself, just to be safe.
Oh, I see Juliet's love, Romeo.
I must get directions for their wedding.
This is happening all too soon, too soon!

From the eyes of Romeo

This is not fair... why am I at this ball?
The lights too bright, pounding music so loud,
These happy people make my stomach sick.
My dear Rosaline is not even here!
Mercutio's twisted words do I blame..
Wait, who is the beautiful girl I see?
She is easily ten times more lovely
than that nun, Rosaline, who I wept for.
I must speak to her, and make her love me,
for I'm sure that my sad heart flies for her!
Sweet angel, you've revived my lonely heart.
